Hi, I’m Whitney Mejias, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, well-being expert, therapist, educator, writer, wife, mom, and lover of green tea, nature, and music.
I’m passionate about helping individuals and teams strengthen well-being and build the tools to show up as their best selves. We all face challenges in different ways and at different times. Perfection isn’t the goal, but growth and awareness are always possible. My work focuses on helping people learn, reflect, and create change, both within themselves and within the systems they’re part of.
My background is broad because well-being touches every corner of life and work. I’ve served as a Well-being Coordinator, therapist, crisis responder, educator, and leader across health systems, schools, and higher education. These experiences have taught me how teams function best and how individuals can stay balanced and connected while doing meaningful work.
Currently, I serve as the Well-being Coordinator at the Golisano Institute for Business and Entrepreneurship, where I support student mental health through programming, counseling, and holistic wellness initiatives. As an Adjunct Professor at St. John Fisher University, I teach advanced psychotherapy concepts to future psychiatric nurse practitioners, bridging evidence-based practice with compassion-driven care.
Before that, I worked as a therapist and lead social worker at both the University of Rochester Medical Center and Rochester Regional Health, specializing in adolescent and family mental health, program management, and team development. My work as a writer and well-being educator continues to reflect my passion for building morale and advocating for mental health through meaningful action and shared experience.
I believe well-being should fit real life, not feel like another task. Together, we focus on simple, practical tools that create real change. And kindness matters, which is why it’s at the heart of Kindlight Consulting.
Outside of my professional life, family is my foundation. They are my light. I love writing, music, yoga, journaling, green tea, exploring nature, and watching Bluey with my kids. At heart, I’m a lifelong learner who finds joy in curiosity and connection.
