Hi, I’m Whitney Mejias, LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).
I'm a wellbeing consultant, facilitator, educator, and writer. I am passionate about helping individuals and teams strengthen well-being, communication, and connection in a ways that feel practical and human.
My background is broad because well-being touches every corner of life and work. My experience spans higher education, health systems, therapy, and crisis response. Within each setting, my core passion remained: creating spaces where people feel supported, balanced, connected, and able to grow.
I serve as the Well-being Coordinator at the Golisano Institute for Business and Entrepreneurship, where I support student mental health through programming, counseling, and holistic wellness initiatives. As an Adjunct Professor at St. John Fisher University, I teach advanced psychotherapy concepts to future psychiatric nurse practitioners, bridging evidence-based practice with compassion-driven care.
Prior, I worked as a therapist and lead social worker at both the University of Rochester Medical Center and Rochester Regional Health, specializing in adolescent and family mental health, program management, and team development. My work as a writer and well-being educator continues to reflect my passion for building morale and advocating for mental health through meaningful action and shared experience.
I believe well-being should fit real life, not feel like another task. Together, we focus on simple, practical tools that create real change. And kindness matters, which is why it’s at the heart of Kindlight Consulting.
Outside of my professional life, family is my foundation. They are my light. I love writing, music, yoga, journaling, green tea, exploring nature, and watching Bluey with my kids. At my heart, I’m a lifelong learner who finds joy in curiosity and connection.
